Firefighters battle blaze at Mondolez factory in Chirk

The cause of a fire at a chocolate factory is being investigated after it resulted in "minor injuries" for several employees. Four fire engines battled the blaze at the Mondolez factory - previously known as the Cadbury's factory - on Station Avenue in Chirk that began just after 11am yesterday, Thursday, December 11.

A statement from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service reads: "Crews will be shortly leaving the scene of the fire at a factory on Station Avenue, Chirk. A small fire in industrial equipment has now been extinguished. A joint investigation between the Service and the company involved will be launched into the cause of the fire."
