A mother-of-two is spending her birthday in an induced coma, covered in bandages and third-degree burns, after ' gang members ' doused her in an accelerant and set her on fire .

Alexis Lee Campion's family say her "whole life now is just in tatters" after a thug knocked on her front door on November 25 and attacked her and her partner, leaving her "unrecognisable".

The culprits remain at large after carrying out the "very dangerous and evil" attack, something the family said they struggled with as they spoke to the Irish Mirror to make Alexis' 44th birthday today (December 12).
