LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The city of Lexington is urging drivers to use extreme caution on the roads amid winter weather.

Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government said that while crews treated and plowed roads overnight, the treated roads remain slushy. Day shift crews will begin working around 7:30 a.m.

Between midnight and 6 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, the Lexington Police Department said they have responded to 32 accidents.

The city advised drivers should allow for extra travel time, and to keep a safe distance between cars to prevent collisions.
