Six months into the tragic Air India crash that claimed the lives of 260 people, the airline continues to face scrutiny over safety standards.
Recent investigations revealed that an Airbus A320 operated by Air India flew eight commercial flights without a key safety permi t called the Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC).
The ARC is issued annually and is granted only after an aircraft passes all mandatory safety and compliance checks. Despite not having a valid ARC, the plane carried passengers between Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Hyderabad on November 24 and 25.
