WAWAYANDA – A road rage incident Thursday afternoon in the Town of Wawayanda resulted in one person being shot, law enforcement sources said. State Police confirmed the shooting incident, but provided no details as of Thursday evening.

The incident began at 3:45 p.m. on Dolsontown Road near the intersection of McVeigh Road, and involved an off-duty police officer, the sources said.

The incident was captured on video by a third motorist who pulled off the road behind the other two.

According to the sources, the first driver approached the second vehicle and began yelling, striking the other driver who was still in his vehicle.
