Bin collections were delayed this morning, Friday, December 12, after city council lorries were 'delayed by protests' in Birmingham .

Under fire Birmingham City Council said residents should continue to leave out bins and they would be collected as soon as possible.

Unite the union confirmed the delays at the Perry Barr and Smithfield depots were not as a result of its recent demos amid the ongoing strike by bin workers.
