The newlywed who lost his wife on their wedding night when their golf cart was struck by a drunk driver has accepted a final settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit.
Shortly after Aric Hutchinson and Samantha Miller were married in Folly Beach, South Carolina, the two were headed to their hotel when they were hit by a Toyota driven by an intoxicated Jamie Lee Komoroski.
Miller, who was still in her wedding dress, was killed in the April 28, 2023, wreck while Hutchinson was left seriously injured along with two other passengers.
Of the $160,000 Komoroski’s vehicle insurer was ordered on Monday to pay, Hutchinson will receive a net total of $104,586.67, while the remaining funds will be used to cover attorney fees and related costs, WCBD reported.
