MADISON (WKOW) — Bitter cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills are putting a damper on some planned events this weekend.

Organizations throughout southern Wisconsin are cancelling or postponing their events due to the anticipated weather. Below is a list of announcements:

Henry Vilas Zoo

Henry Vilas Zoo has canceled its Zoo Lights show on December 13 and 14. Zoo Lights will resume on Dec. 17 and continue nightly through Dec. 23.

Mauston Holiday Light Parade

Due to dangerously cold weather expected Saturday night, this year’s Mauston Holiday Light Parade has been canceled.

Necedah Holiday Parade

Due to dangerously cold weather in the forecast, the Necedah Holiday Parade has been canceled.

Residents are still encouraged to visit the Village Fire Department at 5:00 p.m. for all
