A month's worth of rain is forecast to fall in 24 hours
A new weather warning for rain has been issued with as much as a month's worth of rain expected to fall in just one day. The Met Office has warned as much as 100mm (around a month’s worth of rain) is expected from midday on Saturday to midday on Sunday.
The yellow weather warning covers parts of Scotland and Northern England. North-west Scotland, covering Highland as well as Argyll and Bute is under the warning from midday on Saturday until midday Sunday. In Northern Ireland, another new warning comes into force on Sunday lasting until 6am on Monday with upto 50mm of rain expected to fall over higher ground.
Southern Scottish areas are under warning from 6pm tomorrow until 9am on Monday. These include Dumfries and Galloway, Scottis
