BILLINGS — Billings West senior tight end Matt "Moose" Ludwig isn't heading to the University of Michigan after all.

Ludwig was released from his letter of intent with Michigan on Thursday afternoon, per Rivals.com . Ludwig retweeted the post, confirming his release and reopening his recruitment process. The four-star tight end had been committed with the Wolverines since May and planned on graduating high school this winter to enroll early at Michigan .

“I requested my release from Michigan and I’m opening up my recruitment,” Ludwig said to Rivals . “Michigan did approve my release.”
