Jury finds man guilty of killing two women, one of whom was pregnant

MANASSAS, Va. — A jury found a man guilty Friday of aggravated murder and other charges stemming from the 2024 killing of two women in Manassas .

Edward Jackson Bland, 38, will be sentenced on June 4, 2026, according to the Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.

On April 2, 2024 , Prince William County Police responded to an apartment complex in Manassas for a report of a carjacking. While investigating, officers received a call from Shenandoah County deputies regarding the stolen vehicle.

Deputies said the driver, later identified as Bland, confessed that he had killed two people in Manassas. Prince William County Police searched the apartment where Bland had been before the carjacking and found Leann Harris and Asia Payne dead inside. Both women had been shot in t
