MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Law enforcement agencies across Dane County are working together to make sure every child has a gift under their tree this Christmas.
Officers and deputies collected donated toys Friday morning at the Farm and Fleet store on Stoughton Road as part of the “Kids Helping Kids” campaign.
Shoppers donated new, unwrapped toys throughout the drive, and now it’s up to law enforcement to get those gifts to children in the community.
For Madison Police Department officer Victoria Wickersheim, this effort hits close to home.
“I was a young mom and I remember when my daughter was 4 years old, I had 20 dollars to my name and I had to go to Dollar Tree to pick out dollar toys for my daughter,” Wickersheim said. “So to be able to kind of go full circle and give back to families
