HSBC UK has prolonged its "branch promise", ensuring its 327 branches will remain operational until at least 2027.

The lender announced it will increase investment in its branch network by approximately 30% next year, pledging £55.8 million in 2026, compared to the £42 million allocated in 2025.

This investment encompasses refurbishment and modernisation of branches nationwide .

The branch commitment extends previous assurances made over the last two years, when the bank vowed not to announce any fresh branch closures until the end of this year.

HSBC UK reported that network usage has stayed "robust", with an average of 825,000 customers visiting branches monthly and over two million transactions processed through self-service terminals each month.
