Proposals for a waterfront neighbourhood of 2,600 homes on Pomona Island have been submitted by Peel Waters.
The ambitious blueprint for Greater Manchester's 'forgotten island' also features a hotel, a sprawling five-acre waterside park, and 'social spaces' for coffee shops, bars, and eateries.
The project aims to transform the remaining 25 acres of land nestled between the Bridgewater Canal and Manchester Ship Canal into a residential hub featuring affordable housing, student accommodation, and living spaces for the elderly. Following consultations earlier this year, the developer has now lodged an outline planning application for the Manchester Waters project with Trafford council.
This expansive tract of land, straddling Salford, Trafford, and Manchester, boasts a rich history. Durin
