NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Boy Scout troop is scrambling to replace thousands of dollars worth of camping equipment after someone stole their trailer from a South Nashville church parking lot.
Boy Scout Troop 4 and 44 had parked its large white trailer in the same corner spot at South End United Methodist Church for almost 30 years without incident. The trailer disappeared between meetings last week, taking with it around $10,000 worth of camping supplies the scouts had fundraised to buy over the years.
Scoutmaster Jim Johnson discovered the theft when he arrived at the church and something didn’t look right.
“It was like, ‘Where is our trailer?’” Johnson said. “First thing is disbelief, a little bit of shock, and who could’ve done this.”
