The best defenceman in Vancouver Canucks history is now a member of the Minnesota Wild.
After much speculation, Quinn Hughes was traded to the Wild on Friday.
The Canucks will receive centre Marco Rossi, blue-chip prospect defenceman Zeev Buium, forward prospect Liam Ohgren and the Wild’s 2026 first-round draft pick.
Buium was the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NHL draft and Ohgren was taken 19th overall in 2022.
The Canucks have coveted Rossi, 24, and attempted to trade for him earlier this year.
Hughes remained one of the few bright spots for the struggling Canucks, with 23 points this season, including two goals.
Picked seventh overall by the Canucks in the 2018 draft, the 26-year-old from Orlando, Fla., has long been Vancouver’s top talent.
