F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE – Lt. Col. Tyler Hiatt, commander of the 90th Missile Security Forces Squadron (MSFS), was relieved of command Friday by Col. Terrance Holmes, 90th Missile Wing commander.
Hiatt's removal follows a professional disagreement over actions in the unit, and was a result of his request to Holmes, in which Hiatt stated his inability to execute the duties of his position, according to a news release. Hiatt further offered that he does not feel comfortable serving in the 90th Security Forces Group (SFG).
Lt. Col. David Lycan, 90th SFG deputy commander, will lead the 90th MSFS in the interim, the release said.
Hiatt took command of the 90th SFG during a change-of-command ceremony at F.E. Warren Air Force Base on June 5, 2024.
