Nitro and Greenbrier East combined to connect on 30 3-pointers in the Spartans’ 84-72 victory in prep girls basketball action in Nitro.
The Wildcats and Spartans also collectively went a perfect 30 for 30 at the free-throw line. Greenbrier East was 17 for 17 from the charity stripe and Nitro knocked down all 13 of its foul shots. The Spartans also made 17 3-pointers and the Wildcats drained 13 from the perimeter.
The Spartans’ Kennedy Stewart scored 35 points, dropping in eight treys and sinking seven charity tosses in as many tries. Ava Workman pitched in 28 points on five triples and a 9-for-9 line on free throws. Sandy Banton contributed 14 points.
