Syracuse, N.Y. — The season is young for Solvay boys basketball, and the players are trying to figure things out as they go.

The Bearcats had a couple of tough losses last week, so the team was hoping for a turnaround on the road against Jordan-Elbridge Friday evening.

There was a bit of a back-and-forth between the Bearcats and Eagles. Solvay, however, carried a slight advantage on its way to an 80-64 victory.

“I’m proud of the whole team,” Solvay coach Jim Rolince said. “We were able to be successful, shared the burden defensively and moved the ball on offense. It was a total team effort tonight.”
