COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M head coach Bucky McMillan has all but promised there is one skillset that this frantically-assembled edition of the A&M men’s basketball team should always find consistency — shooting.
But why has consistent shooting failed the Aggies in their three losses of the season — at Oklahoma State, against UCF and in a neutral-site loss to SMU? It can come down to the step before the shot.
As the Aggies, who replaced all but one player this season, have grown in chemistry, so has their ability to pass. Thanks to some building-block games after A&M’s two early-season losses, they have become the best team in the nation in assist percentage at 71.6%.
