A man was arrested last week after he kidnapped a woman at a Morris County college and was found with her handcuffed inside his car, authorities announced Friday.

The investigation began around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 when the parents of the woman notified the Bayonne Police Department that they were concerned about her safety after she failed to pick up her children from school and were unable to reach her, according to a statement from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Detectives traced the woman to the County College of Morris in Randolph, the office said. Randolph Police officers located her car in the parking lot, along with her phone, which was damaged.
