Goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov believes Aberdeen’s positivity will carry them to a successful season.

The Dons suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Conference League leaders Strasbourg on Thursday to end their hopes of progression in Europe.

But the performance again showed signs of the strides they have made since a poor start to the season, which saw them lose 6-0 to AEK Athens.

After just one win in their first 11 matches in all competitions, and drawing a blank in eight of them, Jimmy Thelin’s side have ground out an improving set of results.

Thursday’s defeat was Aberdeen’s first in nine matches and they edged into the top six in the Premiership last weekend.

Ahead of Sunday’s visit of Kilmarnock, Mitov said: “I’m really proud of the boys because we’re growing so much as a team.
