Many people may be suffering from a potentially serious respiratory illness while mistakenly believing it's just the flu. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common virus that can cause common cold and flu symptoms; however, it can be serious for both babies and older adults if they are infected.

According to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), cases of both the influenza virus and RSV are rising across the UK as we hit the midpoint of the winter period. RSV spreads more commonly throughout the winter period and can be easily spread to other people.
