Those wanting to pick up a burger, hot dog or a tray full of other eats at Cook Out will have new locations to check out in due time, according to the fast-food restaurant chain's website.

Since at least October, Cook Out has been teasing new locations on its “coming soon” webpage. Most recently, the company said it had plans for locations in Florida, Georgia and Virginia.

Stores that have already opened their doors include locations in Dothan, Alabama; Greenville, South Carolina; and in Charlotte and Kill Devil Hills in North Carolina. Cook Out also opened its first Florida location in July in Pensacola, reported the Pensacola News Journal, part of the USA TODAY Network.

Based in North Carolina, Cook Out is known for its trays, which allow customers to get a combination of items such as burgers, chicken strips, quesadillas, hushpuppies and more.

USA TODAY contacted Cook Out for an updated list of openings and dates, but here’s what the company has shared online as of Thursday, Dec. 11.

Alabama

  • Foley, 2550 S. McKenzie Street

Georgia

  • Gainesville, 3626 Mundy Mill Road
  • Kingsland, 101 Crown Pointe Parkway (recently added to “coming soon” list)

Florida

  • Jacksonville, 14016 Beach Blvd. (recently added to “coming soon” list)

North Carolina

  • Charlotte, 10820 Woodland Beaver Road
  • Fayetteville, 1909 Skibo Road
  • Locust, 222 James Aven
  • Zebulon, 1206 N. Arendell Avenue

USA TODAY contacted Cook Out and North Carolina officials about the status of previously listed locations: 3704 W. W.T. Harris Blvd. in Charlotte, 8119 Richlands Highway in Richlands, and 2005 S. Croatan Highway in Kill Devil Hills.

Charlotte officials confirmed to USA TODAY on Dec. 11 that the 3704 W. W.T. Harris Blvd. location was previously slated to be a Cook Out, but the address is no longer listed on the company's site.

Kill Devil Hills officials confirmed to USA TODAY on Dec. 12 that Cook Out previously planned to open a location at 2005 S. Croatan Highway. However, the company sold the property in 2022. Cook Out instead bought property at 1513 S. Croatan Highway in 2021 and opened a location there.

Regarding the 8119 Richlands Highway location in Richlands, neither local officials nor the company has responded as of Dec. 12.

Tennessee

Diners who want to find their closest Cook Out location or see if any new restaurants are coming to their area can visit www.cookout.com/locations and check the "coming soon" box.
