A number of deadly weapons were discovered after a man was stopped in a ‘routine’ stop-and-search in Birmingham .

Officers from West Midlands Police ’s Operation Fearless were out on e-bike patrols when they spotted a man in Soho Road in Handsworth on Thursday (December 11).

Jamil Al-Jamil was seen acting suspiciously in the busy street when stood near the junction with Barn Lane.

The 19-year-old was searched and arrested on suspicion of dealing cannabis.

Officers then searched his home around a mile away in Cranbrook Road, Handsworth and there they found a slam gun, a zombie knife and machete.

The teenager has now been charged for weapons and drugs offences.
