BURLINGTON, Washington —
Dramatic video out of the Washington state town of Deming shows a house floating down the swollen Nooksack River following days of intense rain and catastrophic flooding.
It happened early in the morning on Dec. 11. Homeowner Sarah Hansen, who captured the video, said she and her husband have since relocated to a hotel.
They were among thousands who were forced to evacuate as an unusually strong atmospheric river dumped a foot or more of rain in parts of western and central Washington over several days this week and swelled rivers, inundating communities and prompting dramatic rescues from rooftops and vehicles.
