At 8:39 a.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service released a winter storm warning valid from 1 p.m. until Sunday 1 p.m. for Higher Elevations of Indiana.
"Total snow accumulations between 6 and 9 inches," can be anticipated according to the weather service. "Snow bands may prompt some counties to be upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning."
"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult," explains the weather service. "Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat will keep you from losing your body
