CHANDIGARH: A 17-year-old boy, nephew of former Jalandhar West MLA Sheetal Angural, was killed in a late-night stabbing in Punjab’s Jalandhar city on Friday, police said. The victim, identified as Vikas Angural, was attacked around 10pm in the Basti Danishmandan area, not far from his home. He was rushed to a private hospital near Kapurthala Chowk but died from his injuries. Angural, who resigned as an Aam Aadmi Party legislator earlier last year before joining the BJP, alleged that the main accused was a drug peddler who was out on bail in another case. Speaking to reporters, he said Vikas was assaulted with sharp-edged weapons in Lasoori Mohalla by a man known as Kalu and at least two others. “Kalu stabbed him in the chest while others were also involved in the attack,” he said.
