COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities say everyone is safe following a Saturday morning fire in Columbia that displaced five and led to one rescue.
Columbia-Richland Fire said the fire was called in around 7:50 a.m. Fire crews responded to the 6400 block of Easter Street where some people were already out of the house. Crews helped get others out and rescued one wheel chair-bound resident from a back bedroom
Fire officials said there were no injuries in the fire and while the cause is still under investigation, preliminary details suggest it may have started in the kitchen.
