They're a lunchbox essential - but it appears Penguin bars are no longer regarded as chocolate bars. Manufactured by Pladis' McVitie's production arm, Penguin bars were initially developed by William McDonald in 1932 - and are available in different flavours including orange, mint and a cake bar.

Nevertheless, they have recently been reclassified as "chocolate flavoured" as they don't contain sufficient cocoa to be deemed a chocolate bar. Astonished, a Reddit user commented: "Greedflation has come for Penguins - now not enough cocoa to be classified as chocolate. They're now chocolate flavour."
