Halifax has an appetite for women’s hockey.

Allie Munroe agrees with that sentiment. The 28-year-old from Yarmouth patrols the blue-line of the PWHL’s Toronto Sceptres, who will play a neutral-site game Wednesday night against the rival Montreal Vic­toire at Scotiabank Centre. The game sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale last month. A second neutral-site game between the Ott­awa Charge and Boston Fleet will be played Jan. 11 at the downtown arena.

Halifax is one of only two Canadian cities (Edmonton is the other) to stage two Pro­fes­sional Women’s Hockey League games this season. The city also holds the distinction of a non-NHL market that will host a PWHL game, joining larger cities in Quebec City and Hamilton.
