CNN data expert Harry Enten delivered some troubling news for President Donald Trump ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Enten said on Friday that Indiana Republicans’ rejection of Trump’s redistricting push could show that even his voters are not supporting the president as strongly as they used to. This comes after a number of Democrats won local and state elections over Trump-backed Republicans in recent weeks.
He said in March that 66% of Trump 2024 voters strongly approved of how he was handling his job as president. But now, just 50% of Trump 2024 voters said they strongly approve of him.
“Trump voters still like Donald Trump, but they don’t love him as much, and that means there’s a permission structure to actually go against him. And that is exactly what you saw in Indiana.
