With the festive season well underway, many of us are cosying up on the sofa to watch a Christmas film. While there's no shortage of Yuletide classics, we all have our favourites - but there's always room for something new.

If you've already made your way through Love Actually, Home Alone and It's A Wonderful Life - why not try something a bit more local. While they might not be 'classics', several festive movies were filmed right here in Edinburgh.

Some of them use the capital's city centre and bustling Christmas market, while others took advantage of the grand homes dotted around the city. If nothing else, it's always amusing to see English or American actors attempting - and often failing - to nail a Scottish accent.
