A beloved animal at a West Lothian zoo passed away at the age of 46. Carli, a spider monkey, lived at Five Sisters Zoo in West Calder for her 'golden years'.
Her health had recently started to decline, with keepers discovering she had developed incurable cancer. She was 'let go peacefully' in a difficult decision.
Carli arrived at Five Sisters in 2015 with her brother Billie, 35, and her daughter Elkie, 38. She became one of the zoo's 'most popular' residents.
Taking to social media, Five Sisters Zoo said: "It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dearly loved spider monkey, Carli, at the remarkable age of 46.
"Over the past week, Carli’s health had declined. When it was discovered that she had developed advanced incurable cancer, the difficult decision was made
