SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah is making facilities available to help residents stay warm during very cold temperatures.
The City of Savannah and community partners are taking extra steps to help keep people safe during the cold temperatures execpted for our area Sunday night through Tuesday morning.
Shelter capacity is being expanded, warming center space is available, and transportation assistance will be provided for individuals experiencing homelessness or anyone without adequate heat.
Residents are encouraged to take precautions during this period of extreme cold by limiting time outdoors, checking on elderly neighbors or those without adequate heat, and bringing pets indoors. It’s also important to know the signs of cold-related illnesses and seek help immediately if
