The Baltimore Orioles made a big splash in the free agent market with a five-year, $155 million contract for Pete Alonso . Needless to say, it is the most surprising signing of the offseason thus far. Alonso was an icon for the New York Mets after hitting 53 home runs in 2019 to win the National Rookie of the Year award.
