Highway 407 ETR is increasing the toll rates starting in the new year, and has also announced an expansion of the Route Relief Program for low-income drivers.

The 407 ETR has varying per-kilometre toll rates, depending on the type of vehicle, the zone of operation and the time the vehicle enters the toll highway.

Right now, the lowest rate to operate a small vehicle — including cars, vans, SUVs and small pickup trucks — westbound on the highway is 36.06 cents and to operate eastbound is 35.66 cents per kilometre.

The highest rate for small vehicles travelling westbound on weekdays is 77.72 cents and for those travelling on the weekend, its 51.34 cents. Eastbound, the highest rate on the weekdays reaches 85.15 cents and on the weekends, up to 51.34 cents.
