TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A Lucas County family has filed a lawsuit against online gaming platform Roblox and messaging app Discord , alleging their teenager was sexually exploited by an adult man who pretended to be a child.

Jamie Powers, an attorney with Dolman Law Group representing the family, said the exploitation began on the Roblox platform in 2024 and moved to the Dsicord platform.

The lawsuit claims the man coerced the teen to send nude images of herself. When the teen wanted to stop, the man threatened to harm her family, according to the legal filing.

The broader lawsuit alleges that both apps fail to adequately protect children and knowingly cause and facilitate child sexual exploitation.
