TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Ohioans went to the polls and legalized recreational marijuana nearly 770 days ago.
It was on the ballot as a proposed law, meaning lawmakers had the ability to change or overturn it whenever they wanted.
More than two years later, and after multiple failed attempts, the legislature passed a bill that changes Ohio’s recreational marijuana landscape.
After the governor signs the legislation, which he says he will do, recreational marijuana will remain legal to possess and use, but with more restrictions than are currently on the books.
In Why it Matters , we explain what will change when the law goes into effect.
