1Prince Frederick, MD – Maryland’s Independent Investigations Division (IID) is reviewing a fatal police-involved collision that occurred early Friday morning in Calvert County after a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that later struck another car, killing its driver.
The Maryland Office of the Attorney General said the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on December 12 in the area of Route 4 and Stoakley Road in Prince Frederick.
Deputy’s pursuit ends in deadly crash
According to preliminary findings, a Calvert County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a Nissan sedan for a traffic violation near Prince Frederick Boulevard and Calvert Hills Road. The driver did not stop, and the deputy followed the vehicle for roughly one mile before the Nissan entered the intersection at Stoakley Road
