MESA, Ariz. — It was a heartwarming morning for a group of kids and their family members, who were paired up with police officers from across the Valley for a first ever annual Sensory Awareness Shop with a Cop Event in the East Valley.
Nicole Morales showed up all smiles alongside her 14-year-old daughter Ali, who was selected to take part in the event at Walmart Supercenter at Mesa Riverview.
“Ali was specifically selected for her demonstration of kind behavior and her great grades. She has a 4.0 GPA,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to having a good experience and a connection with the cop that I’m chosen to shop with,” Ali said. “…because I think their job is really cool.”
Ali shared what she really wants for Christmas.
“…my family to be happy,” she said.
