ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The St. Louis Zoo is taking a step into the digital age as officials confirmed Friday afternoon that they are making the transition to cashless payments.
Visitors will start seeing changes in March when a number of vendors will stop accepting cash. Zoo admission is free, but parking, food, and merchandise are sold at the facility.
The zoo will also have a “reverse ATM”, or kiosk, helping people transfer cash to a debit card they can use.
The zoo expects to be full cashless by November 2026.
