(KRON) – The San Francisco 49ers took another step towards severing ties with star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

According to The Athletic, the 49ers placed Aiyuk on the reserve/left squad list on Saturday, ending the receiver's 2025 season and likely his tenure on the team. The designation is "usually applied to players who plan to retire or who have quit their team," The Athletic's Matt Barrows wrote.
