LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A cold front will send us back to winter for a couple days, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures and a freeze on Monday morning.
The front arrives early Sunday morning with any early morning rain exiting by daybreak. Northerly winds will gust near 30 mph at times to push colder air into SWLA. Temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40’s north of I-10, with afternoon highs only in the low 50’s along and south of it. Then comes even colder weather and a freeze on Monday morning.
Freezing temperatures are likely Monday morning and that will be possible at the coast too. The Cameron coast will see lows around 32F with colder temps farther north. Along the I-10 corridor, lows should drop to near 30 degrees. Mid-to-upper 20’s will be possible into Vernon, Beaur
