NORTH POLE — Wrestlers from Wasilla, West Valley, the Student Wrestling Development Program (SWDP), Delta, Lathrop, Valdez, Hutchison, Su Valley, Nenana, Tok, and Galena joined the hosting Patriots at North Pole High School Dec. 6 for the John Tobin Invitational.
The Patriots defended their home mats in the boys’ division, capturing the team title with 206.5 points. Wasilla High School finished second with 192 points, while the West Valley Wolfpack rounded out the top three with 151 points. For individual honors, Wolfpack 119 pounder Canyon May was voted Outstanding Wrestler for the boys’ side of the tournament.
On the girls’ side, Wasilla High took top honors with a commanding performance, scoring 165 points to secure the championship. Lathrop finished as the runner-up with 135 points,
