Syracuse, N.Y. – The second half of Syracuse’s game against Hofstra saw enough swings to cause seasickness for those watching.

But the real craziness came in the final minute of the Orange’s 70-69 loss at the JMA Wireless Dome.

Syracuse had led by seven points early in the second half only to let Hofstra go on a stunning 19-4 run.

The Orange, looking lost against Hofstra’s zone defense, suddenly snapped into focus. Trailing 67-57 with less than five minutes remaining, Syracuse scored 11 straight points.

The huge pendulum swings set up a final minute that included clutch free throws, a huge 3-pointer, a critical challenge, a 5-second violation and a no-call on Syracuse’s final possession that cost the Orange a chance to snatch victory when a loss seemed certain just minutes earlier.
