The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch at 12:57 a.m. on Sunday valid from Monday 7 a.m. until Tuesday 1 p.m. for Oswego County.
The weather service says, "Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations more than 7 inches possible in the most persistent lake snows."
"Travel will be extremely difficult and hazardous with deep snow cover on roads and near zero visibility within the heaviest band of snow this morning. Travel conditions will improve this afternoon," explains the weather service. "During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just a few miles away.
