NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Edgehill Neighborhood Partnership (ENP) has been running the FreeStore since 2011, giving their neighbors a place get everything from food to household items to hygiene necessities for free.
But now, ENP CEO Dr. Allison Quintanilla Plattsmier says they might have to end the program if they can’t get enough funding by the end of the year.
Since last July, the FreeStore has served more than 2,500 families by creating a place for community members to donate items that their neighbors can take for free.
“Items that typically aren’t covered by food stamps, so a lot of hygiene and cleaning supplies, diapers, kitchen items, linens, things that, if you’re living paycheck to paycheck or you’re starting over in a new place, are going to be hard to access,” said Quint
