BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Communities across Louisiana hosted holiday celebrations this weekend, bringing neighbors together through parades, festivals, and Christmas parties.

The Gus Young parade drew crowds to North Baton Rouge, where longtime attendee Chanice Boudreaux said the annual event serves as a must-see community gathering.

“It’s just something you gotta come to. Even if you don’t come to this area or whatever, this is like a 1010. You have to come to the Gus Young parade,” Boudreaux said.

Boudreaux said the parade provides important visibility for North Baton Rouge, an area she described as not receiving many community advancements.
