CENTRAL ILLINOIS( 25News Now ) - It came down to the final two seconds, but #23 Nebraska stays undefeated on a buzzer-beating dagger by Jamarques Lawrence to sink #13 Illinois 83-80.

Pryce Sandfort scored the first fifteen points of the game for Nebraska on his way to a 32-point performance. Kylan Boswell, Andrej Stojakovic, and Keaton Wagler combined for 58 of the Illini’s 80 points, but Lawrence’s dagger drops the Orange and Blue to 8-3 overall.

Illinois has eight days off before traveling down to St. Louis on the 22nd to take on Missouri in the annual Braggin’ Rights Battle.
